ST883: Anthropology (Reformed Doctrine of Man)

Course Description

This course presents the Reformed doctrine of man. It begins with a historical analysis, providing an overview of anthropological doctrines from the Reformation to the present. Then it turns to theological exposition based on Scripture, addressing key topics:

1. The origin and nature of man

2. Man as the image of God

3. Man’s fellowship with God

4. The fall and the transmission of sin

5. Original sin and actual sin

6. The sinner’s lack of true free will

The goal is to help students understand, from a biblical perspective, the creation, fall, and redemption of man. True human purpose is found only in Christ: “to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.”.
